“Nugu” Group Astonishingly Increases Album Sales By Over 120%

When it comes to markers of growth for a K-Pop group, many consider their chart activity to be one indication that they have grown in popularity. Many groups have done programs to help their popularity increase and have seen the results in sales, specifically those of their physical albums.
Recently, a “nugu” group impressed with their album sales.
In 2023, Kim Jae Joong helped to found the label iNKODE, which manages his career. The label expanded and debuted its first girl group, SAY MY NAME, in 2024, gaining attention for some familiar faces, including ex-IZ*ONE‘s Hitomi.

The group’s debut album, SAY MY NAME, initially sold just over 33,000 copies, an impressive amount for a girl group’s debut.
Recently, SAY MY NAME made their first comeback with “Shalala” on March 13, and their music video currently sits at over 16 million views a week after release.
March 21 marked the end of the group’s first week of album sales, and SAY MY NAME outsold their previous album by quite a bit! My Name Is… recorded 73,179 sales, which is more than double SAY MY NAME‘s sales.

Many expressed pride in the group, praising what they called their “organic growth”
no payola, no ads, no big4 company, no prior fanbases tuning in. just pure fan love, organic growth, and good music https://t.co/0xBg3rDZrA pic.twitter.com/9eiFYuRuSm
