“Nugu” Group Celebrating 6th Anniversary Becomes A Hot Topic
For K-Pop groups, anniversaries can mark a huge achievement, especially as the number goes higher.
Only 8 K-Pop Groups That Debuted Seven Years Ago Haven’t Disbanded
These milestones are especially impressive for groups under smaller companies that do not have as many opportunities and advantages as those under larger companies.
Recently, a “nugu” group under a small company reached their 6th anniversary and became a hot topic.
In 2018, it was rumored that iMe KOREA would debut a girl group, then tentatively called iMe Girls.
The group’s actual name was revealed to be DreamNote in July 2018. DreamNote made their official debut in November of that year with Dreamlike.
The following year the group saw a line-up change as Habin and Hanbyeol departed. 2020 saw the group turn to Makestar for the funding of their third single album Dream Wish. Both the album and the group’s promotions were funded through these efforts.
After this, the group’s promotions slowed, with two more single albums being released in 2021, and 2023.
In October 2024, the group released their first Japanese single album, with a Korean version being released in the 23. November 7, 2024 marked the group’s sixth anniversary since debut.
Many marveled at a “nugu” group lasting this long, and celebrated the occasion.
