Exposed: Here’s The Full Video Transcript of Spire Entertainment’s CEO Abusing OMEGA X Members
In their latest exclusive, SBS News revealed video footage taken from the night when Spire Entertainment‘s CEO Kang Seong Hee verbally and physically abused OMEGA X, especially member Jaehan, in Los Angeles.
The video begins showing the group members standing in the parking lot outside of a restaurant in Los Angeles. Kang, the CEO, can be heard shouting at the members.
Kang: Go on, say your piece!
Kang: Do you really think you deserved to be loved by all these people, you b*stards?
Kang: You don’t even know what it means to be loved. You’re all just f*cking manipulative.
Kang: What, are you superstars now?
Kang: It’s not like you made it all the way here on your own.
Then, the video captures member Jaehan sitting down—seemingly exhausted from the tension. Reportedly, Jaehan started showing signs of a panic attack at this point. This, however, did not stop Kang from her abuse. The video goes on to show Kang belittling the member in distress.
Kang: Dying of exhaustion, huh? Kim Jaehan!
Kang: (Mockingly) Poor Mister Kim. Just quit being an idol, really. You’re sick all the time.
Other OMEGA X members can be heard defending Jaehan and asking Kang to stop the aggressive behavior. But, as evident in the video, Kang’s tantrum continues.
Kang: Aren’t you going to get up? Get up. GET UP!
OMEGA X: Ma’am, please. Stop.
Kang: Do you even know how many times I passed out?
OMEGA X: He’s not feeling well right now.
Kang: I’m not well either. In fact, I’m dying in pain right now!
When the members try to help Jaehan get back on his feet, Kang displays hostility toward the whole group.
Kang: Hello? When I passed out, none of you cared for me like this. Did you?
Kang: Do any of you even know how many times I’ve passed out?
Kang: Get up. Get up right now, Kim Jaehan!
Soon, Jaehan pulls himself together and starts collecting his things to get up. When his fellow member asks if he’s feeling all right, Kang scoffs and accuses Jaehan of “putting on a show.” Even as Jaehan stumbles over to get himself in a vehicle, Kang insists he’s acting sick on purpose.
OMEGA X: Please, ma’am. Stop.
Kang: Stop? You want me to stop?
OMEGA X: (To Jaehan) Are you okay?
Kang: You’re putting on a show.
(Jaehan walks over to a vehicle.)
Kang: Hey! Stand up straight! Don’t be fooled, he’s obviously acting sick!
With Kang being impossible to stop, a voice behind the camera recording suggests either asking the driver to lock the door or walking back to the hotel.
OMEGA X: Should we ask to have the [car] doors locked?
OMEGA X: Or should we walk back? It is a whole 12 blocks away, though.
Even when OMEGA X members arrive at the lobby of their Los Angeles hotel, Kang’s frenzy does not stop. Kang, apparently upset by the fact that the members did not look after her the same way they had been looking after Jaehan throughout the whole situation, starts screaming across the lobby.
Kang: Have any of you done this for me? When I was struggling, have you ever taken care of me this way?
Kang: Who do you think you are? Huh? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
OMEGA X: He’s about to lose consciousness.
Kang: Well, I’ve been there already.
Then, as Jaehan tries to take the elevator up to his room, Kang grabs him in an act of rage—making him stumble down. Others rush over to help Jaehan up as Kang remained hostile toward the struggling member.
Kang: Stand up!
OMEGA X: What do you think you’re doing?!
The video ends as it captures member Jaehan breaking into emotional tears as his fellow members support his swaying body.
SBS News also revealed an additional recording from their exclusive phone conversation with Kang after the allegation, the statement, and the flight cancelation all unfolded. In the recording, Kang can be heard denying having abused Jaehan and other members.
Kang: Oh, no. Not at all. Who raised voices?
Kang: It’s just that in front of the hotel elevators, Jaehan kept falling to his feet. And I wanted to pass out right then and there, too.
Kang: I was just disappointed in how he was acting, that’s all.
Kang: I did ask the members if they ever thought to take care of me [like that].
Regarding the initial tweet that called attention to the situation, Kang claimed that it came from the management’s “anti.”
Look into the person who uploaded the recording. You’ll see that they have always been very against the management. (Censored name) is the one who retweeted. I know that (Censored name) is Hwichan’s fan.
But you’ll see when you look through the comments or the members’ live broadcasts. The management has always been praised for taking good care of the members. They all talk about how nice we are! Like, here’s the thing. I usually speak in honorifics to the members. I can even show you all the KakaoTalk messages that I have going with the members.
— CEO Kang Seong Hee
Regardless of what has been captured on video, Kang remains adamant that she has never, ever abused the members.
I was only asking them if they ever thought to take care of me when I was feeling down. Or when I was passed out. I was struggling too. Me, abusing the members? No way.
— CEO Kang Seong Hee
In an official statement released to Korean media outlets soon after the initial voice recording circulated online, Spire Entertainment claimed that the management and OMEGA X have since resolved all hard feelings and agreed to move forward.
Please note that we kept communicating after dinner. And Spire Entertainment and the members have since resolved all hard feelings. We have concluded to continue moving forward together, all the while being more considerate toward one another.
This past month on tour, getting to meet the fans from all around the world who love and support the members, has been an inarguably meaningful time for both OMEGA X and the managing team at Spire Entertainment. And while we have tried everything in our powers to keep our promises with the fans, we apologize for having caused such concern in the end.
Spire Entertainment would like to thank the fans again for wholeheartedly supporting OMEGA X. As the name ‘OMEGA X’ suggests, the group will continue to share and create valuable moments from the beginning to the end; and we, as the management, promise to protect both OMEGA X and the fans through these moments.
Again, we extend our sincerest apologies for the situation.
— Spire Entertainment
OMEGA X fans, however, are demanding a better apology—as well as for Kang to take full responsibility for the mistreatment of Jaehan and other members.
