One Of The Most Famous LGBTQ-Themed K-Pop Music Videos Might Finally Get A Sequel
Back in October 2012, soloist K.Will would unexpectedly shock the K-Pop community with the release of his now-famous hit, “Please Don’t”. What at first seemed like a music video about two guy friends falling in love with the same girl, only to have one of them end up marrying her and leaving the other friend seemingly heartbroken for losing her, ended with what is arguably the biggest plot twist in any K-Pop music video before or since.
If you’re familiar with the video, you know what the twist is. But if you haven’t seen it, it turns out that the single friend (played by Seo In Guk) was actually in love with his best friend (played by Ahn Jae Hyun) the whole time, rather than the girl (played by Dasom). This is revealed by him tearing in half a picture of the three of them and putting himself next to Jae Hyun.
Even today, the LGBTQ+ community is heavily underrepresented in the K-Pop industry, so back then, over a decade ago, the twist was even more surprising and iconic. Paired with K.Will’s soulful, emotional vocals, “Please Don’t” remains a song and music video that every K-Pop fan should experience at least once.
Recently, it was announced that K.Will would finally making a long-awaited album comeback for the first time in nearly six years.
It was also revealed that Seo In Guk and Ahn Jae Hyun will star in the music video, which heavily suggests that it will be a sequel to “Please Don’t”. This is even more perfect since the comeback is set to happen in June, during Pride Month!

There have been other hints at this comeback and music video sequel as well. K.Will appeared on Jaejoong‘s talk show last month and talked about revisiting the storyline from “Please Don’t”, and even said that Jae Hyun shared that he would love to star in a sequel.

There hasn’t been any news about whether Dasom will appear in the new music video to reprise her past role, but fans can only hope that there will be a happier ending for Seo In Guk’s character this time.
Fans are reacting to the news with excitement and speculation about what the storyline could be.
