Famous 2006 Korean “Wattpad Novel” To Become K-Drama
A Korean internet novel by the name of Onsaemiro has been signed on to be made into a drama. Originally launched in 2006 by writer Ga Geurin, Ga was only 20 years old when she penned the novel. It attained high fame amongst teens for its cringey lines and plot. It was associated with other famous internet novels such as Wolf’s Temptation and He Was Cool. Such novels were considered Korea’s answer to Wattpad fiction.
The drama will air in 2025, although casting has yet to be confirmed. The drama is about the school life and love story of female lead, On Saemiro, and the male lead Kim Hyung Gwang. They were a campus couple, that is, until both lose their memory due to a fire. A classmate who had a crush on Saemiro, Yoon Yeo Jun, takes the chance to trick her into dating him. Saemiro is overcome by guilt about forgetting her boyfriend, and swears her loyalty to Yeo Jun. She runs into Hyung Gwang by chance again.
It is unsure if the drama will stay loyal to the original novel, for the original novel has a tragic ending. In the original, all three take their lives. Fans have been clamoring for Roh Jeong Eui and Song Kang to be cast as the leads due to their visual synchronization with the original characters.
Song Kang is currently serving the military, which would make it impossible. Other options that fans have brought up include Song Geon Hee and Chae Jong Hyup.
