Park So Dam Expresses Gratitude Towards Co-Star Seo In Guk For Helping Her Overcome Difficulties With Cancer
Park So Dam and Seo In Guk starred in the same drama, Death’s Game, together. Seo In Guk played Choi Yi Jae, a man who takes his own life after facing repeated failure. He meets Death, played by Park So Dam. He must go through death 12 more times, else face the fate of being sent to hell.
The project was Park So Dam’s first work after battling cancer. She underwent surgery for thyroid cancer and spent 2022 healing. In 2023, she decided on taking up the challenge even though her voice was still recovering. Park So Dam shared on an interview program with Jo Hyun Ah once, that she faced huge problems during the filming.
My biggest thought was not to cause trouble to the director who cast me, the staff, and my co-stars. But endurring it was often physically demanding. I started the show thinking I was okay, but it was so hard seeing myself not being able to handle it. I cried a lot thinking, ‘Am I really okay?’ But now, I’m okay.

On a recent interview program, Park So Dam shared the touching words that Seo In Guk gifted her with during filming. As she was concerned about affecting the crew, he proposed a way that would reduce her burden.

Oppa showed me a lot of consideration. My condition back then when we met earlier in the year was worse than it is now. I was very concerned that I would suddenly struggle. When that happened, he said ‘we can always take a break! I’ll just say I need to go take a dump.’ He said that to help me earn some time. Like. if it’s hard for me to say I need five, he offered to say that on my behalf.
