Petition To Suspend YG Entertainment’s Activities Exceeds 30,000 Signatures
Following the drug scandal of former iKON member B.I, a petition entitled “Petition To Halt All Promotions From Entertainment Agency, YG Entertainment” was created with the intent of banning YG Entertainment artists and related artists from broadcasts.
It will be collecting signatures until July 12, but as of June 18, the petition has already exceeded 30,000 signatures. The petition was put up on June 12.
Many Koreans have also promised to boycott YG Entertainment by refusing to listen to any songs released by artists from the agency.
Korean netizens have agreed with the petition, hoping that this will stop YG Entertainment from promoting their artists and maybe urge the artists the house to terminate their contracts and see other agencies. Many are hoping that the artists who are innocent and not involved with drugs will get out of that agency.
Many have also expressed worry for their active artists, however. They hope that BLACKPINK (pictured above), WINNER, Jeon Somi, Lee Hi, AKMU, and the debut of Treasure13 won’t be negatively affected due to the actions of other people.
We need to do the right thing and save the innocent celebrities.
