MBC‘s new K-Drama, When The Phone Rings, adapted from Geoneomulnyeo‘s Webtoon, has become a viral hit.

Paik Sa-Eon (Yoo Yeon-Seok) comes from a prestigious political family and he became the youngest presidential spokesman in Korea. His background also includes time spent as a war correspondent, hostage negotiator, and main anchorman. He married Hong Hee-Joo (Chae Soo-Bin) 3 years ago. She is the daughter of a newspaper proprietor. She has mutism due to an accident she had when she was little. She works as a sign language interpreter in court and on television. Paik Sa-Eon & Hong Hee-Joo got married largely due to convenience. For the past 3 years, they haven’t communicated with each other or have meals together. They pretend they are a happily married couple. One day, Hong Hee-Joo is kidnapped by an unidentified person. This changes their marriage life.

The lead actors’ chemistry and “BookTok” vibes have had viewers in a chokehold. Since the start, netizens praised Soo Bin and Yeon Seok’s chemistry.

Yet, the chemistry doesn’t stop just because the director yells, “Cut!” or the cameras stop recording. The actors repeatedly prove they are close offscreen as well. Recent behind-the-scenes clips have especially proven this.

In Episode 10, the kidnapper drove toward Sa Eon and Hee Joo, but he pulled her in, falling to the side. The attention to detail was notable in the behind-the-scenes clip, as he protected her.

While it was a scary scene, the actors were still cute and playful between takes. Fans noticed how Yeon Seok petted Soo Bin’s head after the take.

Yet, due to their chemistry, another behind-the-scenes clip has sent fans into meltdown. At the start of Episode 10, Hee Joo imagined a sweet moment when Sa Eon playfully woke her up with kisses and tickles.

The behind-the-scenes was even more playful. Even after the director called “Cut,” Yeok Seok seemed to want to keep playing with Soo Bin, who attempted to tickle him after he tickled her. When he appeared not ticklish, she went for his feet, which he hid.

Fans can’t get enough of Soo Bin and Yeon Seok’s playful chemistry, as they often appear affectionate and laugh together. Soo Bin especially is known to playfully hit Yeon Seok when they joke with each other like true friends!

Both actors are under the agency King Kong by Starship and have known each other for several years. When The Phone Rings isn’t their first time working together, they previously appeared in a coffee commercial and Starship Game Caterers together.
