Popular 3rd-Gen Girl Group Leader Admits To Her Beef With Fellow Member
OH MY GIRL leader Hyojung talked about her conflicts with a co-member during a recent interview.
On August 29, KST, Hyojung appeared as a special guest on LE SSERFIM member Eunchae’s YouTube show, Eunchae’s Star Diary. In the video, Hyojung talked about her group’s latest comeback, celebrating ten years of OH MY GIRL and her relationship with the members as a leader.
Hyojung surprisingly mentioned that she always felt the role of a leader was not meant for her, but thanks to her members’ praises, she now feels confident about it. The idol also confessed that she finds it difficult to be angry with her members. “I tell them not to get hurt by what I say,” Hyojung explained, adding that she herself ends up crying while trying to “scold” them.
When asked which member she locked horns with the most during their debut era, Hyojung took YooA’s name without hesitation!
“I had a bit of a trouble with YooA,” the leader elaborated, stating that she would often dance in her own way during practices, which became a point of conflict between the two. Hyojung recalled that she would try to bring her co-member back on the right track, saying, “This is a group choreography,” or “We’re a team.”
Hyojung, however, showed understanding toward YooA’s tendency to add her own flair to things. “YooA is an artist,” she said proudly while explaining how sometimes going the extra mile was not even a conscious decision for her.
Interestingly, Eunchae could relate to Hyojung’s story and mentioned Yunjin as one such member of her own team. Bringing up their “Smart” music video, Eunchae pointed out that Yunjin went out of the way during the ending pose, executing the move in a “flashy” way compared to the other members.
