Popular Actor Seeks Engineering Job At Kia Motors, Leaving Fans Confused

His agency responded to fans’ concerns.

Actor Lee Jung Hyun recently shared about him seeking a job opportunity at Kia Motors, leaving fans thoroughly confused about his future in the entertainment industry.

The actor took to his personal Instagram on December 23, KST, to disclose that he had applied for the position of a production engineer at Kia Motors. But his application was rejected by the company.

Lee shared the rejection message on his Instagram with a caption, “Rejected. Merry Christmas.” His application for the “2024 Engineer (Production) New Hire” position was rejected in the document screening phase.

Kia Motors started accepting applications for the position on December 5. According to its talent recruitment website, those selected for the job would work on the automobile assembly line, putting together car components and conducting quality checks and adjustments.

Lee’s post, revealing his rejection, left fans baffled and wondering if he was hinting at his retirement from acting. His agency, Actor Directors, responded to these concerns on December 24, KST. In a statement, the agency reassured that Lee was not hinting at retirement from acting.

This is not about preparing for retirement. It is simply a part of the actor’s personal endeavors to enjoy new challenges.

The agency also added that Lee has always been passionate about pursuing different skills even before debuting as an actor. They clarified that he applied for the position with complete sincerity and shared the rejection on his social media because it was that upsetting to him. They also emphasized that his decision to pursue the engineering role had no bearing on his career as an actor and mentioned that he was filming for New Recruit 3. His other filming schedules are also unchanged as of now.
