Popular Boy Group Surprises By Returning With Original Name After 8 Years

Fans are thrilled.

When a K-Pop group reaches the end of their contracts, they either negotiate and re-sign with their company or move to other agencies. There are plenty of obstacles for groups that wish to continue, including fighting for their group name, like GOT7.

A popular boy group recently announced they could use their original name again!

In 2009, boy group BEAST (also known as B2ST) made their debut under CUBE Entertainment.

The group gained considerable popularity and was promoted as five following Jang Hyunseung‘s 2016 departure until 2017 when the group left CUBE Entertainment for its own agency. However, as CUBE owned the rights to the name BEAST, the group re-debuted as HIGHLIGHT and have been promoting as such since.

In early April 2024, it was initially announced that HIGHLIGHT and CUBE had come to an agreement, where the group could return to using BEAST. However, the news seemed to truly set in for fans following the release of a teaser for a special film, where the name BEAST was included in the title.

The video also ended with the group’s original B2ST logo, solidifying the return.

Fans have been overjoyed for the group’s new ability to use any name!
