Popular Comedian Blasts The “2024 KBS Entertainment Awards” Following aespa Karina and Zico’s Wins

Comedian and TV star Byun Ki Soo did not hold back when criticizing the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards for sidelining comedians in favor of singers and actors.

During the award ceremony, where many trophies were given out to this past year’s favorite entertainers, some of the winners were indeed singers. For example, the “Rookie Award in the Show & Variety” category was awarded to Zico for his role in The Seasons and aespa’s Karina for her work in Synchro You.

Meanwhile, the Rookie Award in the Reality category went to actor Lee Sang Woo of Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant and singer Park Seo Jin of Mr. House Husband. Comedians were notably absent from the list of winners in these categories.

After the award ceremony concluded, comedian Byun Ki Soo took to social media to share his opinions on the show and the winners. He posted a picture of aespa’s Karina and Zico accepting their awards, along with a caption expressing his frustration.

However, it wasn’t a total shutout for comedians at the event. The long-running program Gag Concert saw several wins, with Nam Hyun Seung and Jung Tae Ho picking up the Best Couple Award. Shin Yoon Seung also claimed the Best Excellence Award in the Show & Variety category, while the segment Simkook Police Station was recognized with the Best Idea Award.
