Somi ranked #1 on the first season of Produce 101, making her debut as the center of I.O.I. After the group’s disbandment, Somi made her official solo debut with “Birthday” on June 13, 2019.

In 2021, Somi released her first and only full album, XOXO, which contains eight tracks, three of which were already released in the years prior.  Her latest album release was the 2023 mini-album Game Plan, and since then, she has only released non-album singles.

The idol has only released around 19 songs as a solo artist, way less than some would expect for around 6 years of activities.
