Popular J-Pop Girl Group Accused Of Plagiarizing tripleS

They allegedly copied five music videos.

A popular J-Pop girl group, Hinatazaka46, has been accused of plagiarizing K-Pop’s tripleS. In particular, Hinatazaka46’s latest music video for “Zettaiteki Dairokkan” was compared to not just one, but multiple of tripleS’ music videos.

Fans found similarities in “Zettaiteki Dairokkan” across four of tripleS’ music videos. The first was this down-looking angle from “Generation.” On the left is tripleS’ “Generation,” while on the right is Hinatazaka46.

The overall theme of the girls being documented using a cell phone was also said to be referenced from “Inner Dance.”

Having the girls dance against a white background in jeans and white tops was said to be from “Girls’ Capitalism.”

The convenience store and bus scenes were allegedly taken from “Rising.”

There were many other scenes that reportedly overlapped, such as scenes filmed on the staircase.

The uniforms that the groups wore were also suspiciously similar. On the left column is tripleS in “Touch+,” while the right is Hinatazaka46.

  • They really took reference outright.
  • This is too much… Perhaps it’s because I know triples, but I really thought of them as soon as I saw the music video. It’s too severe LOL. What’s up with that? Their MV and song doesn’t fit well, so it’s even more obvious. Their fans probably don’t know so they are praising the MV, making the group look even more like they lack a conscience… Only the victims will suffer.
  • Even having the credits roll at the end seems like they’re copying K-Pop.
  • They copied 5 of tripleS’ music videos with just a single song LOL. Honestly if it were just one or two scenes that overlapped, I would say that it’s not so special so it could happen, but “Rising,” “Girls’ Capitalism,” “Cherry Talk,” and “Inner Dance,” even “Generation.” At this rate, their MV is a summary of tripleS’ promotions LOL.

You can watch Hinatazaka46’s music video below and judge for yourself.
