Sik-K first gained attention for his appearance on Show Me The Money 4, ultimately signing to H1GHR MUSIC and establishing himself as a popular rapper. Through the years, he has raised eyebrows for some of the imagery in his releases.

Recently, the artist shared images of himself with braids in his hair.

These braids were similar to those worn by Black people as protective styling, something that is considered cultural appropriation. Cultural appropriation is defined as “the unacknowledged or inappropriate adoption of the customs, practices, ideas of one people or society by members of another and typically more dominant people or society.”
