Popular Singer Caught Switching Clothes With Manager After DUI Crash To Fool The Police
Earlier today, Channel A released a shocking video that exposed popular trot star Kim Ho Joong swapping clothes with his manager right after causing a hit-and-run crash due to driving under the influence.
The CCTV footage, captured on May 10 around 12:40 AM, shows Kim Ho Joong parking the car in an alley about 200 meters from the accident site and making a phone call immediately after the crash. Shortly after, his manager and other agency staff arrived.
About 50 minutes later, the manager was spotted wearing Kim’s coat and proceeding to drive the car away from the scene.
It had been earlier reported that Kim’s manager had gone to the police station and claimed responsibility for the accident. However, upon discovering that Kim owned the car, the police pressed further, leading the singer to admit he was the driver. The manager who gave the false statement turned out to be Kim Ho Joong’s second cousin.
Both the manager and Kim were found to be heavily intoxicated, confirming previous suspicions that Kim had indeed come from the entertainment bar.
The incident occurred on May 9 around 11:40 PM in Gangnam. Kim, driving recklessly, collided with a taxi in the opposite lane, lifting both cars off the ground. After the crash, the singer left the scene without taking any necessary action. This led to charges for hit-and-run causing injury and for failing to take measures post-accident.
Despite initially denying the allegations of drunk driving for days on end, Kim Ho Joong admitted to the offense on May 19, ten days after the accident. Through his agency, Kim stated, “I am sorry. This is Kim Ho Joong. I would like to express my sincere apologies for the hurt and disappointment I have caused to many people for my momentary lapse of judgment.”
As a result, the singer’s upcoming concerts in Gimhae scheduled for June 1 and 2 have since been canceled.
