Popular Third-Gen Idol Claims She Earns More As A YouTuber
Former AOA member Choa recently made a shocking revelation about her earnings as a YouTube creator.
Choa recently appeared in a video on Ji Seok Jin’s YouTube channel, where she talked about the hardships and hate she faced after leaving AOA. Even though she wanted to start something of her own after AOA, it got delayed because of her mental exhaustion. The singer confessed that the malicious comments got so mentally taxing that she couldn’t even leave her bed for three years.
The two also talked about their YouTube channels, and Choa proudly mentioned that she has already garnered 420,000 subscribers on her channel. “A month after I started, about 300,000 people subscribed to it. It really helped me gain courage,” she explained.
The singer then mentioned that YouTube is her main source of income, adding, “I think I earn more than I did in AOA.”
Ji Seok Jin was taken aback at this revelation, to which Choa explained, “I didn’t get paid that much when I was in AOA because I left in the middle. I left when we started to make a profit…”
Netizens are also baffled at this revelation, pointing out that even when Choa was a part of the group, AOA was highly active.

- “Choa was really a key member of the group…But she didn’t receive the treatment she deserved. I’m so glad things are going well for her now.”
- “She left without even receiving a settlement…I remember they performed at a lot of events and appeared on many variety shows. But how can she not receive any settlement money with that much popularity?”

Meanwhile, Choa debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 and delivered smash hits like “Miniskirt,” “Short Hair,” “Heart Attack,” etc with the group. In 2017, she withdrew from AO due to insomnia and depression and temporarily suspended her activities.
