“The Price of Confession” Set To Release: Two Actresses Expected To Replace Han So Hee And Song Hye Kyo

The K-Drama is on the verge of finalizing new leads.

“The Price of Confession,” a highly anticipated K-Drama, became a distant dream after lead actresses Han So Hee and Song Hye Kyo declined their roles early last year. The show’s future was shrouded in uncertainty following their departure and the subsequent refusal of proposed director PD Shim Na Yeon to join the project. However, it seems the show is still set to release, with new reports claiming two actresses have been offered the lead roles.

In May of the previous year, it was revealed that both Han So Hee and Song Hye Kyo, after extensive deliberations, opted out due to disagreements with the production team. This news came as a disappointment to fans, particularly because of the known chemistry between them, evidenced by their mutual support on Instagram, which had heightened expectations for the drama.

However, in a promising development reported by Hankyung.com, the production team has successfully navigated these setbacks. They have reportedly made last-minute adjustments and are on the verge of finalizing new leads and a director for the K-Drama.

The role initially intended for Song Hye Kyo has been offered to the veteran actress Jeon Do Yeon. Her agency, Management SOOP, confirmed that Jeon Do Yeon is considering the part and is currently reviewing the script.

If she accepts, Jeon Do Yeon will portray Ahn Yoon Soo, an art teacher whose life spirals into darkness after getting embroiled in a chilling murder case. This character promises to showcase a complex and intriguing narrative arc.

As for the character initially pegged for Han So Hee — the mysterious and antisocial Mo Eun, whose life is profoundly affected by Yoon Soo — the production has turned to Kim Ji Won.

Known for her diverse acting portfolio, Kim Ji Won’s involvement in the project is highly anticipated, especially considering her potential on-screen chemistry with Jeon Do Yeon.

Finally, the new director is set to be Lee Jung Hyo, who is known for the immensely successful K-Dramas Crash Landing on You and Doona!

As the casting nears its final stages, all eyes are on this project, eagerly awaiting more information about the cast as well as its release.
