On July 17, KST, Psick University announced that they donted ₩50.0 million KRW (about $36,200 USD) worth of goods to the Yeongyang County Office to help aide the residents of the area who were affected by the sudden flooding of the region. The donated goods included essential household appliances like refrigerators, rice cookers, fans, and televisions, which were all highlighted as highly needed by families who suffered due to the flood. The Yeonyang County Office made a statement informing citizens that cash donations were impossible to receive at the given moment, and any kind of support through contributing actual goods would help the victims immensely.

This contribution, on Psick University’s part, comes after their huge controversy in May that led to them losing nearly 100,000 subscribers. The trio had made some insulting comments about Yeongyang County while visiting the region for a video. They made fun of local stores and infrastructure, insulted their civil servants, and belittled a restaurant and bakery they visited.

Their comments sparked a huge outcry nationwide, and the comedians issued an official apology a week after the video was posted. The Psick University channel paused its uploads for nearly two months and resumed only recently, on July 9. However, their subscriber count is yet to recover, having dropped from 3.18 million to 2.91 million at the time of writing.
