Rookie Idol’s Latest Post Points To “Hacking,” But Sparks Different Reactions
PURPLE KISS‘s latest post on their official X (former Twitter) account has K-Pop fans concerned and confused.
The post, reading “PURPLE KISS’s X has been completely hacked, hasn’t it? Hahahahaha,” has been up since March 2, 2024, 9 AM (Pacific Time) and is garnering over 1.3M views.

Most fans believe it to be a hacking incident—as the post has appeared on X and no other official platforms—and are hoping that the rookie idol group can retrieve their official account.
On the other hand, as PURPLE KISS is ahead of their March comeback (announced less than a week before the “hacking”), some are questioning if the post is a part of the promotion.
Korean online communities have also discussed the potential of the post being a promotional stunt, and while nothing has been confirmed, a handful have begun criticizing the management for pulling “something like this” and “being so far behind trends.”
- “If it had been a hacking incident, the post should have been deleted already.”
- “PURPLE KISS members are so talented, though. I can’t believe this is the best that [rbw] can do with them… Sigh.“
- “Please, no… I hope the management isn’t this far behind the trends and so out of touch… Right? I mean, this could be a real hacking incident…”
- “You are all being so loud and proud, criticizing the management already. But what if this isn’t some sort of a promotional stunt?”
- “Ha… Sigh.“
- “No hacker would leave a post like that, though. LOL. The management is so out of touch with their promo tactics.”
- “How come everyone is so convinced that this isn’t real?”
- “There is no reason for rbw to pull something like this in the middle of the night, though…”
- “If this is supposed to be some sort of a promotional stunt, I’d be so turned off…I hope the management isn’t trying to take advantage of the group’s fans being genuinely worried for the members.”
- “I went and checked out their X feed and nothing has been deleted. Everything is still there, including the post. I don’t think it’s real… All of the replies are also saying it’s some sort of a stunt for the comeback.”
Either way, neither PURPLE KISS nor RBW has responded to the post.
