New tvN K-Drama “Queen Of Tears” Ratings Rise Since Its Premiere
This year’s most anticipated K-Drama, tvN‘s Queen of Tears, premiered on March 9.
Queen of Tears tells the story of Queens Group heiress Hong Hae In (Kim Ji Won) and her husband Baek Hyun Woo (Kim Soo Hyun), who is also the legal director of Queens Department Store. They face challenges in their third year of marriage but stay together against the odds.

Queen of Tear‘s screenwriter is Park Ji Eun, who previously wrote Crash Landing on You, The Legend of the Blue Sea, and My Love from the Star. Its directors are Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won. Jang previously worked on Crash Landing on You, Sweet Home, and Mr. Sunshine. Kim is known for Vincenzo, Little Women, and Crash Landing on You. So, viewers have been looking forward to this new K-Drama due to its talented crew.
With just its first episode, it scored ratings of 5.85% (nationwide) and 6.49% (metropolitan). This was a strong start, but it got even better with Episode 2. Queen of Tears viewership jumped to 8.66% (nationwide) and 9.82% (metropolitan). It’s expected to see a rising boost next week with potential double-digits.
According to FlixPatrol, Queen of Tears was featured in Netflix‘s Top 10 lists in 40+ countries on March 10. It ranked #8 worldwide.
Queen of Tears premiered on tvN on March 9, 2024, and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20 (KST). It is available to stream internationally via Netflix.
