“Racist” And “Disgusting” — “SNL Korea” Gets Severely Slammed For Parodying NewJeans Hanni’s Audit Appearance

SNL Korea recently aired their latest episode where they parodied NewJeans Hanni‘s recent appearance at an audit. Hanni spoke up against workplace bullying, sharing her own experience and testifying against her company’s executives.

SNL Korea parodied her, using significant moments such as when a board member tried to take a selfie with her…

…and when she spoke up about what she experienced.

The episode has been gaining criticism for its parody of such an important and sensitive topic.

• Makes them look low quality.
• It’s racist to copy a foreigner’s pronunciation… They also parodied the Nobel Prize Winner, writer Han Kang.
• The way they copied her pronunciation is too much…
• I knew that they would do it… This is an embarrassment on our country.
• Is this funny to them?
• Think about what it would be like if a Korean went to testify at an audit in America and SNL copied their English pronunciation. Would it be funny?
• How did they think of using this as material? This is so disgusting.
