Rain Comments About Finding “Hidden” Talent — Sparks Outrage Among Netizens
K-Pop idol Rain has received massive backlash after a recent comment made about audition shows.
Along with his own career, Rain has taken on the role of CEO. Sadly, netizens have had nothing but criticism for the way Rain has managed groups like MBLAQ and, more recently, Ciipher.
Recently, Rain posted a new video of his Season B Season. Considering it was released after Luna New Year, the topic was about how to grow the channel.
During the episode, Rain explained how one of his plans for the year was to do with the singers and actors, proposing an idea to tour some of the smaller locations.
Rain wants to reach out to talent in provinces, even seemingly hinting at some sort of show to promote it, like a survival or variety series.
He added that the plan was “Reaching out to hidden talents in the nation.”
When the video was posted, it sparked outrage online among Korean netizens. Along with pointing out Rain’s mismanagement with groups like Ciipher, many just asked him to stop producing idols and to stop the idea of trying to debut new artists.
- “The person who can’t even manage the group that debuted…”
- “…”
- “Stop it.”
- “There was also a group called Ciipher…?”
- “Please don’t produce idols… stop it…”
It’s not the first time comments Rain has made about scouting talent has received backlash. During a survival show, Rain said, “If YUEHUA isn’t planning on signing them, I’ll take them. Is that OK?” It obviously sparked anger as netizens complained that he couldn’t even take care of his own artists, never mind thinking about new artists.

While Rain has had a successful idol career, netizens will never forgive the singer for the way he has treated the groups he has debuted.
