EXO made their epic comeback with “Obsession”, and VIXX‘s Ravi celebrated it with his own shoutout to his best friends, Kai and Suho.
Soon after, EXO dominated the music charts by ranking #1 with their title track and their sub tracks following below it.
And Ravi congratulated his friends once again but all the while calling out other artists who are allegedly manipulating charts by using sajaegi (a method where artists’ companies buy their own albums in bulk and illegally pay 3rd parties to constantly stream the songs).
Ravi posted onto his Instagram, “I thought my friend were idols but they were Lee Sedols.”
Ravi is referring to Lee Sedol, a famous go player who famously beat a artificial intelligence robot in a series of games. Lee Sedol’s name sounds similar to “idol” in Korean, and Ravi was referring to how EXO beat out artificial intelligence technologies that are manipulating the charts.
Netizens praised Ravi for his witty post as the issue of chart manipulation has been a hot topic since BLOCK B‘s Park Kyung called out multiple artists for using sajaegi.
