Hello. This is Pledis Entertainment. Firstly, we wish to thank the fans who have loved fromis_9 without fail, at any time. The contract with fromis_9 (Lee Saerom, Song Hayoung, Roh Jisun, Lee Seoyeon, Lee Chaeyoung, Lee Nagyung, and Baek Jiheon) will end on the coming December 31. We have deeply discussed the individual future plans and activities for a long time with the members, and after sufficient conversation, we have mutually decided to end the exclusive contracts.

The news sparked a debate between fans. fromis_9 had originally been formed through the show Idol School. They had initially been managed by Off The Record Entertainment. They moved to Pledis Entertainment in 2021 and later joined HYBE when Pledis Entertainment was acquired by the company. Many fans credit their good songs and improved production to the label after the move. As such, a portion feels that Pledis Entertainment did their duty for the girls. Another portion of fans feel that the label let the girls down.
- Isn’t it just that they failed to renew the contracts during the renewal season? What do you mean that this is a rude ending?
- Pledis didn’t do anything wrong.
- They were a group destined disbandment in the first place, right? They finished the contract anyway.
- fromis_9 was able to promote so long because of Pledis anyway.
- It was because they went to Pledis that they were able to promote longer.
- Pledis never concludes anything properly. What a trashy company.
- Huh? They hit their career high this year, and they were beginning to get some reactions, didn’t they? Suddenly this? Is it because they don’t bring in that much?
- Didn’t they do well this time?
fromis_9’s career gained traction slowly, with the girls peaking through recent releases such as “DM” and their latest track, “Supersonic.” The sudden news shocked fans who were expecting a renewal, but many accepted it as the girls’ original termination date had long been known.
