Netizens React To Bombshell Court Ruling In Favor Of ADOR Against NewJeans’ Independent Activities

The court has ruled that the girl group NJZ (formerly NewJeans) which is engaged in an exclusive contract dispute with the entertainment agency ADOR, should not conduct independent activities.
The Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Division 50 accepted ADOR’s injunction request against the five members of NJZ on March 21, 2025, to prohibit them from signing advertising contracts and to preserve the agency’s status, ruling in favor of ADOR.
Netizens felt sorry for the girls and continued to voice support for them. However, they also rationally reiterated that this outcome was inevitable. In the eyes of the law, the contract naturally stands until proven wrong, and until the case is closed, it would be difficult for NJZ to legally pursue anything that could violate the existing contract.

- Of course! If not, why would contracts be made?
- Well, anyone could tell…
- Duh.
- I don’t like HYBE, but we all been knew.
- I knew this would happen if they took it to court. Contracts aren’t pushovers, you know.
- NJZ fighting.
Previously, in November of last year, the five members of NewJeans claimed that their exclusive contracts with ADOR were nullified due to ADOR’s contract violations and began independent activities. You can read more about the ruling below.
