Red Velvet’s Joy Will Reportedly Leave SM Entertainment

She has been meeting with acting agencies.

Red Velvet‘s Joy will reportedly be leaving SM Entertainment after the expiration of her contract.

According to an exclusive report from Star News, Joy is preparing to leave SM Entertainment and find a new agency once her contract with SM Entertainment expires. Star News stated she has been meeting with agencies specializing in actor management recently.

SM Entertainment has only officially announced the contract renewals for Seulgi (back in August 2023) and Irene (in February 2024). They have not announced anything for Joy, Yeri, or Wendy.

Back in June, Joy expressed her frustration with SM Entertainment on how other artists are having comeback articles released, but Red Velvet did not have many released for them and how Red Velvet is the only SM Entertainment group to not have a Japanese fanclub.

SM Entertainment has since commented on Star News’ report, stating they are in talks with Joy.
