Red Velvet’s Seulgi Brought Back Her Iconic Bangs & Everyone Is Obsessed
It doesn’t take much to get everyone talking about Red Velvet‘s beloved main dancer Seulgi. In fact, the recent return of her choppy bangs hairstyle was enough to get her trending worldwide on social media.
Seulgi has had bangs a few times over the course of her career, but without a doubt, one of her most iconic hairstyles came during the group’s “Peek-a-Boo” era. From the moment the main dancer revealed her choppy bangs back in 2017, fans were in love with the cute and quirky look.
Now, the beloved bangs have made a return. Earlier today, Seulgi uploaded a new series of photos to her Instagram with a single word in the caption: “Bangs~~.” And honestly? The gorgeous picutres speak for themselves.
Dressed in an adorable casual outfit, Seulgi showed off her new choppy hairstyle in photos around Seoul. Even though she was wearing a mask, you can still see how gorgeous she is behind it.
Not that fans had to wonder about Seulgi’s under-mask beauty for long, as the star graced everyone with a second set of pictures where everyone could see her beauty. Seulgi’s new bangs are almost identical to her “Peek-a-Boo” look—except this time, she’s sporting a warm brown hair color that matches her warm “teddy bear” personality perfectly.
Back when the star cut her choppy bangs the first time, she revealed she was trying to look chic. Fellow member Irene told her she looks cute instead, but it’s safe to say Seulgi has the power to embody both looks at once.
Fans are so obsessed with Seulgi’s bangs, they haven’t been able to stop talking about them—to the point that her name reached no.10 on Twitter‘s worldwide trends ranking within hours.

Many ReVeluvs also couldn’t help but notice how much she resembles “Psycho”-era Joy, who also sported bangs of her own.
But most excitingly, a new hairstyle often means one thing for K-Pop idols: a comeback. The Red Velvet members have been alluding to preparing for a comeback since late 2020, but after a long 16-month hiatus, that new release is finally starting to feel like a reality.
