Red Velvet’s Wendy Explains That Her Viral Mid-Length Haircut Was Totally Unplanned
Red Velvet‘s Wendy started a hot new trend back in 2019 with her gorgeous medium-length haircut! It showed off her visuals just right and had everyone running to the salon to get the same look.
Jaejae, the host of MMTG, showed the group photos of Wendy’s viral haircut and told some hilarious stories from back when it was first seen. One netizen posted about a time they went to the salon and asked for “the Wendy haircut,” but the hairdresser just said it’s not possible!
Wendy was so nonchalant about the whole viral trend, but then revealed that her haircut wasn’t supposed to look like that in the first place!
At first, she just had her hair chopped off in a straight line. Her reaction to that was short and precise: “Oh no.”
So she asked them to try thinning out her hair to change it up a bit. But she liked the feeling of the hair-thinning process so much that she kept asking them to thin it more!
Eventually, they ended up with her iconic style and it went on to go viral! Who would’ve guessed such a popular haircut could have some a simple origin?
