Red Velvet’s “Ice Cream Cake” sweeps music, album, and music video charts
SM Entertainment‘s rookie girl group Red Velvet has made a successful comeback with their first mini-album Ice Cream Cake, sweeping not just music and album charts, but music video charts as well!
Released on March 16th, the music video of “Ice Cream Cake” topped YouTube’s “K-POP Music Charts TOP 20” for the week of March 16th to March 22nd, while pre-released music video of “Automatic” on March 14th ranked 3rd on the same chart, showing Red Velvet’s immense popularity despite being a rookie girl group.
Red Velvet’s “Ice Cream Cake” also reached TOP5 in various music charts, topping Hanteo‘s weekly chart and Bugs’ weekly chart. It is also ranked 1st in iTunes’s K-pop Album charts, iTunes Pop Album in various Asian countries, and topped overall album chart in three of the Asian countries. The album has also made it to the 2nd position of Billboard’s World Album Chart for the week of April 4th.
Meanwhile, Red Velvet is actively promoting on various music programs, and have recently won their first music show trophy.
