Remembering Lee Ji Han: A Tribute To His Life And Work
According to an exclusive report from TV Report, Produce 101 contestant and Actor Lee Ji Han passed away during the Itaewon Tragedy that occurred on October 29-30, KST. He was only 24 years old (international age) and was preparing for his television drama debut.
Lee Ji Han was born on August 2, 1998. He first made his way into the spotlight in 2017 as a contestant on Season 2 of Produce 101 as a trainee under Pan Entertainment. He was one of 101 hopeful trainees competing for a spot in the debut group, Wanna One. As part of his introductions, Lee Ji Han made his memorable impression by introducing himself while wearing traditional clothes and reciting a monologue.
He showed off his various charms throughout the show including his initial evaluation performance of EXO‘s “Overdose” and his group performance of INFINITE‘s “Be Mine.” He ultimately placed 98th overall and left the show during episode five.
Following his departure from the show, Lee Ji Han left Pan and signed with WIDMAY Entertainment while focusing on his studies. In the spring of 2019, he went on to make his acting debut in the Artist Lab web drama 나비의꿈 (Dream of Butterfly). Lee Ji Han also appeared in Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day later that same year as the titular character.
After leaving WIDMAY, Lee Ji Han joined 935 Entertainment, an agency with a focus on acting. Before his passing, Lee Ji Han was cast in the upcoming drama The Season of Kkokdu as the ex-boyfriend of actress Im Soo Hyang‘s character. Im Soo Hyang shared in a post on Instagram reflecting on his work ethic, saying “I know just how hard you worked and how much you wanted to do well.”
Following the tragedy, 935 Entertainment shared the news of his passing and on November 1, friends and family of the actor announced that he had been laid to rest following his funeral.
