SM Entertainment’s Latest RIIZE Announcement Sparks Backlash
“I f@cking hate this…”
Netizens are shocked by the prices of RIIZE‘s upcoming fan concert concert.
On March 8, a post titled “People Are Complaining About RIIZE’s Concert Prices” went viral.
In the post, the author reveals that RIIZE’s FAN-CON ‘RIZING DAY’ IN SEOUL had starting prices of ₩121,000 KRW (about $91.40 USD), with VIP seats going as high as ₩154,000 KRW (about $116 USD).
The author of the post included several posts criticizing the label’s decision on prices, especially due to the fact that a “Fan Concert” is more akin to a fan-meet.
- I mean, why are they selling sound check tickets when they don’t have any songs to check?
- What happened that made their fan concerts go from ₩66,000 KRW (about $49.80 USD) to ₩154,000 KRW (about $116 USD)?
- Wow, I wanted to say nice things since it’s their first fan concert but, unless they are performing Siren 5 billion times, these prices don’t make any sense.
Netizens reacted to the prices, with many criticizing the group. Many fans took exception to these prices as the group has just recently debuted.
- If they are going to charge these prices, they should do a concert instead.
- This is too expensive. They’re only going to sing a couple of songs…
- Wow.
- These are concert prices though?
- If they are charging these prices for a fan concert, how much will they charge for a normal concert?
- Don’t they only have a few songs? I can go through their catalogue while taking a shower.
- SM must be in dire need of money.
- I f@cking hate this. They need to calm the f@ck down. How are they going to charge these prices when they only have a few songs? Pisses me off…
- Who started fan concerts? They are just making up event names at this point.
