RIIZE’s Members Get Heat, Go Viral For Their “Disappointing” Reactions To BOYNEXTDOOR’s Jaehyun

Earlier this year, BOYNEXTDOOR‘s Jaehyun and RIIZE‘s Sohee were chosen to join ZEROBASEONE‘s Hanbin as the official MCs of music awards show M! Countdown. The three rookie idols bring different but enjoyable energies to the show, with Jaehyun and Hanbin being heavily extroverted while Sohee is more introverted, and together they’re entertainingly chaotic.

Recently, the other members of RIIZE appeared on M! Countdown to promote their new album, RIIZING, and they sat down for a livestream show hosted by Jaehyun.

While most of the livestream seems to have been entertaining and enjoyable, though, there was one brief moment that has oddly gone viral online, and not for reasons that RIIZE fans would like.

During the clip in question, extreme extrovert Jaehyun does a silly wiggly dance while the RIIZE members watch. The “controversy” comes from the RIIZE members’ seeming lack of a reaction, leading to what some viewers feel was an awkward moment.

Of course, BOYNEXTDOOR would’ve went, “What the! What the! What the!!!! Wow what are you doing!!! What’s up with Myung Jaehyun!!!”

This 26-second clip has over two million streams on X, and a lot of the initial reactions from people were surprisingly critical. BOYNEXTDOOR fans and others thought that the RIIZE members were being “rude” for their lack of a reaction to his antics, and think that Jaehyun’s own fellow members would have been much more reactive and entertaining.

Fortunately, though, many more people came to the defense of RIIZE’s members in the wake of this criticism. With four of the group’s members being introverts and the other two being quieter extroverts, fans claim that this is a normal reaction from RIIZE and it didn’t have anything to do with being disrespectful towards Jaehyun. Others think it was just a normal reaction to what Jaehyun was doing in the first place.

The “controversy” even made its way onto public forums, where netizens continued to send their support towards RIIZE and explain why this entire situation is a non-issue.
