Sandara Park appeared on Unnie’s Salon recently, where she opened up about how she first became friends with Yubin. They mostly bonded over the fact that they are former members of two top girl groups from the 2nd generation of K-Pop.
Sandara Park was a member of 2NE1 and Yubin was a member of Wonder Girls.
We have a lot in common. We’re both from a 2nd generation girl group.

She noted that not only do Yubin and she connect on a deeper level due to their career paths, but she suspects many of the 2nd generation girl groups are going through similar situations and concerns.
But I realized that many of [us] are in similar situations. Most of them disbanded, and they aren’t receiving the same amount of interest now that they’re promoting by themselves.
They’re probably very scared.

Sandara revealed that she’s planning on creating a club meeting dedicated solely for members of the 2nd generation girl groups! She hopes they can get together to share each other’s stories, empathize, comfort, and cheer each other on.
I thought, what if I gathered these girls and created a club?

The 2nd generation of K-Pop featured many iconic girl groups, such as 2NE1, Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation, SISTAR, KARA, SECRET, and more.
As they have either disbanded or are on an indefinite hiatus, Sandara hopes that a club would be a good place for the girls to find comfort in each other and cheer each other on – and perhaps become a good source for junior girl groups as well!
Will Sandara’s club become a reality? 2nd generation fans can only ever hope for such a beautiful club in the K-Pop industry!
