Sandara Park Had Her Mobile Phone Confiscated By YG Founder, And The Reason Was G-Dragon
In a couple of recent interviews, former 2NE1 member Sandara Park has opened up honestly about how the group members were treated at YG Entertainment.
Recently, the singer shared that the company made them have cosmetic surgeries before their debut. On July 18, she shared another shocking fact about her time at YG Entertainment. The founder Yang Hyun Suk had once confiscated her mobile phone because of BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon.
It got taken away because of Kwon Ji Yong (G-Dragon’s real name).

Sandara Park shared the story during her appearance on JTBC‘s Salty Pawn Shop program. The guests all brought a unique item with them to “pawn” it and shared interesting stories related to it. Sandara took out an old flip phone that she had actually used in 2009.
One of the MCs immediately recognized the model and recalled that 2NE1 had shot a commercial for it. The girl group member confirmed that it was indeed the same model they had done an advertisement for.
During that time, Park confessed that she was popular among male celebrities, who would often try to get in touch with her. She didn’t tell Yang Hyung Suk about it, but she also ignored all the calls and messages sent by men.
I used to be pretty popular among male celebrities. Even if I received calls from men, I would ignore them.

She continued that one day, a male celebrity was very frustrated and complained to BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon while drinking with him. “Dara noona doesn’t contact me,” the man told G-Dragon.
One of the guys got frustrated and complained to G-Dragon…

The BIGBANG member was proud to see that his noona had avoided that person and bragged about her to others in the company. But eventually, it reached the boss, who assumed that Sandara was contacting guys. Consequently, he took away her mobile phone and the singer had to spend a few months without it.
Our noona turned down someone like him!
— Sandara Park, talking about G-Dragon’s reaction
Hearing this, the hosts wondered if G-Dragon is the type to talk a lot, given that his appearance hints the opposite. But Sandara Park explained that though 2NE1 members are older than him, they were the first group to debut under YG Entertainment after BIGBANG. So, he took great care of the members and paid much attention to all kinds of stories about them.
GD-ssi took very good care of us.
— Sandara Park
Though Sandara Park had started the story with a playful tease of G-Dragon, by the end, it became clear that she was grateful to him for his kindness towards 2NE1.
