SBS “Inkigayo” Camera Director Goes Viral For Being “Upset” With NewJeans’ Minji
A clip of SBS Inkigayo‘s camera director “upset” with NewJeans‘ leader Minji has been going viral, and netizens can’t get over the surprisingly wholesome exchange.
NewJeans has been charming fans and locals everywhere they go. With their infectiously charming personalities, trendy style, replayable hit songs, and viral choreography, people can’t get enough of the monster rookie group.
The group recently made their first comeback after their surprise debut last summer. Wanting to be able to spend the winter with Bunnies, or Tokkis (NewJeans’ fandom names), NewJeans dropped their pre-release track “Ditto” in December and “OMG” in January to kick off the new year.
NewJeans has been actively promoting both songs on music show programs and ran into a unique predicament when both “OMG” and “Ditto” faced off for the number one award.
During their promotions, two of the NewJeans members achieved another first experience as an idol: becoming a music show MC.
After IVE‘s Wonyoung concluded her time as MC of KBS‘s Music Bank to focus on group promotions, NewJeans’ Minji temporarily stepped in as a special MC for two weeks.
This prompted Inkigayo‘s competitive spirit to kick in as they greeted NewJeans’ after their January 29th performance on the show.
As Inkigayo‘s staff members congratulated the group for their number one win, the show’s camera director suddenly let Minji know he had been “upset for the past two weeks.”
When the group’s leader asked why that was, he jokingly complained she was spending too much time as KBS.
In the viral clip circulating, another staff member poked fun at the camera director, saying, “So what, you got salty?!” to which he took on a protective parental stance, sharing, “We’re just being dads. We get jealous like that.”

The wholesome interaction caught the attention of netizens, who couldn’t get over how sweet the Inkigayo staff was with the rookie group.

While NewJeans’ Minji spent time as a special MC at Music Bank, Danielle made a special appearance as an MC on Inkigayo!
