Award Winner Mentions His School Bullies During Speech At The “3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards”
On July 19, 2024, the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards took place, honoring the best of the best programs on streaming services. Numerous popular programs and actors were up for awards, including the Disney+ series Moving.
Of the many attendees, however, one winner’s story has stood out to netizens.
Kwak Joon Bin is known to many as KwakTube, the name of his extremely popular YouTube channel. Born into a family that was “not well off,” Kwak gained popularity through the channel, where he shared content about Azerbaijan while working at the embassy there.
Since then, he has continued producing content on his YouTube channel, which has 2.05 million followers, but has also appeared in variety content like KwakTaxi Trip and Devil’s Plan.
It was for his appearance as a cast member of Devil’s Plan that Kwak was nominated for “Best New Entertainer (Male).”
Kwak appeared excited on the event’s red carpet, looking handsome in a suit.
After being announced as the award winner, Kwak delivered a moving speech, recalling how he had imagined accepting an award in the past.
I thought I would be told if I was going to receive it, but they really didn’t tell me. Actually, I’ve watched a lot of award ceremonies from my room, and in the past, I imagined what it would be like to receive an award.

Kwak also referenced the school bullying he endured during the speech.
While in middle and high school, Kwak was the victim of school bullying. He was often forced to buy snacks for his peers with his own money and had his gym clothes and other items stolen. He recalled on one occasion where he was stabbed in the back with a math compass during an interview.
The bullying was so severe that Kwak ran away from home, and eventually dropped out of that high school.
In his speech, he stated that he thought he would want to call out his bullies, but instead was only able to think of the people that had helped get to where is currently is.
While considering what I would do if I received one, I thought about talking about the people who bullied me, but their names aren’t even coming to my mind right now. I can only think of the people I’m grateful to who helped me get here.
