The band is set to perform at the festival on March 15 in Texas, United States. But their decision to participate in the event has been met with criticism in light of the ongoing devastation of Gaza, Palestine.

The criticism comes in the context of nearly 100 artists pulling out of the festival, citing that weapons manufacturers and the US Department of Defense are involved in this event. These organizations, the withdrawing artists have said, are connected directly to the ongoing onslaught of the Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

In response, the festival put out a statement, essentially doubling down on their support of the private defense industry and the US Army’s sponsorship of the event.

Fans have been responding to Se So Neon’s posts about SXSW with Tweets hoping to get them to reconsider their decision to perform there since a few days ago.

Even a day before the festival, Se So Neon have posted about their appearance on their social media accounts, and the replies were flooded with fans calling for them to withdraw from the event and show solidarity with Gaza.

The group, however, has not acknowledged any of these demands so far, inviting criticism.
