On November 25, the SEVENTEEN members participated in a virtual fan meeting for the Chinese store Yizhiyu.

During the fancall, the group’s youngest, Dino, started a candid conversation with a fan, asking them about their day. He brought up the fan’s workplace, asking if anyone was bothering them at their office.

Immediately after him asking the question, a staff member from the side warned Dino not to talk about office-related topics on the call.

Though fancalls are a great way for international fans to connect with their favorite idols without going through the usual hassle of in-person fansigns, the calls tend to be closely monitored by company staff. And more often than not, idols comply with the staff members’ instructions. But Dino chose not to budge.

He completely ignored the staff member’s words and doubled down on his question, reassuring the fan that if anyone at their workplace was giving them a hard time, he would make them “disappear.”

This interaction has gone viral on X (former Twitter), garnering over half a million views from netizens praising Dino’s decision not to pay heed to the instruction. Many fans came down heavily on Pledis Entertainment, complaining that this clip was only a small part of a seemingly growing list of arbitrary topics that fans are not allowed to bring up during fancalls.

Meanwhile, this isn’t Dino’s first time going viral for an unexpected fancall moment. Read more about it here.
