SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi Gains Attention For His Actions During The Global Boycott
SEVENTEEN‘s Hoshi has gained attention for his actions amid the global boycott of brands.
Due to the ongoing genocide in Palestine, many brands are being boycotted due to their direct or indirect links, and one is the coffee brand Starbucks, which was often drunk by idols. After many received backlash, more idols have been seen drinking other brands and slowly showing more awareness, even if it isn’t as obvious as netizens would like.
On June 5, Hoshi had a surprise live broadcast and chatted with CARATs.
When Hoshi went to take a sip of his coffee, which was probably bought by his manager ahead or after a schedule, the idol took a look at the logo on the front of the coffee which while was green (like one of the brands being boycotted) seemed to be a local Korean brand.
When the video was posted on TikTok…

Netizens loved how, although Hoshi might not be able to speak publically, the idol was showcasing awareness of everything going on and making sure that the coffee wasn’t from a boycotted brand, especially as the logo seemed similar. Others also shared how it was announced that Glastonbury has been helping to raise funds for Gaza, and it’s a festival that SEVENTEEN are taking part in.
Even on X, people shared that it shows that idols are aware, and Hoshi seemingly didn’t want to cause any misunderstandings with the coffee he was holding.
Hoshi was aware of the brand that he’s drinking during wvs live to see that the cupholder is green with ‘that’ logo or not. Until here we knew that he IS aware of what happened, the way we can see he make sure of the cupholder 🥹🥹 https://t.co/mSBLhxjFe7

While it would be amazing for all idols to speak directly on the issue, the politics and restrictions within the K-Pop industry means nobody knows how easy or difficult this would be.
