SEVENTEEN Jun’s Story About A Director’s Negative Comments To The Group After Debuting Angers CARATs
SEVENTEEN‘s rise to one of the most successful K-Pop groups has not been easy and was filled with a lot of haters in the industry.
While SEVENTEEN is one of the most popular groups, their growth has been truly organic, from the days in the green basement to winning awards. It is all through the hard work of the members and support of CARATs with each release and project that changes and showcases the group’s diversity.
SEVENTEEN Jun‘s story about the group’s treatment after debuting has netizens furious.
During a recent appearance, Jun shared a time when they went on a show not long after debuting, and as expected, they went to greet the director.
Sadly, while the group would’ve gone in extremely positive, Jun revealed that the director’s reaction was less than optimistic but that the group still had to be respectful despite the harsh comments.
The director said that he thought that SEVENTEEN wouldn’t be popular, but we still had to smile at him then continued to work hard.

When the video was posted, netizens were furious about the treatment SEVENTEEN received as rookies.
Of course, it’s not completely new to many CARATs as along with their anger, they shared instances of the members hitting back at the critics, whether it was through the lyrics or even Woozi‘s emotional speech at the 2023 MAMA Awards. They also shared that despite all the doubters, SEVENTEEN worked so hard to get to where they are, putting in so much work and dedication.
The bullying SVT had to go through from the industry during their rookies years is crazy. Their countless stories about people always putting them down plus they were so young then too. I’m so amazed they’re able to remain good natured & amiable after all they’ve been through. https://t.co/oilFgsRgLV

tbh this is probably why mingyus line in lalali (“split the money in one thirteenth/but still stuffed) is one of my favorites: its the ultimate slap in the face to everyone in the early days who had no faith or belief in them because of the size of the grppic.twitter.com/Dgk86HjpoL https://t.co/mCLQKwGhB6

"We build a building from our basement unit"
"You guys ghosted us 3 years ago, you didn't know, you never expected us to get this big"
"Are you watching? Even though it took a while, we got the grand prize"
"Been touring domes now, haven't you heard now stadium tours now" pic.twitter.com/V0deJN1jfa

and this is why carats get mad as hell when someone on twitter dot com discredits seventeen. to simply say "they went thru so much & they worked hard" is an understatement. they went thru hell & high water to be where they are now & there are evidences of that on the internet. https://t.co/hweAdLYwdh

The members of SEVENTEEN have proved all the haters wrong, succeeding and thriving in the industry that was seemingly trying to put them down when they first debuted.
