SEVENTEEN Make History Sweeping No. 1 On Oricon’s Weekly Chart With “Heng:garæ”
SEVENTEEN have been proving they are seriously unstoppable from day one but after making their latest comeback with Heng:garæ they’ve been making it even more obvious.
Since releasing their mini-album, they’ve been killing it on the charts and setting all kinds of new records. And their latest Oricon achievement proves they aren’t slowing down one bit!
Oricon, Japan’s largest sales statistics site, announced on June 30 that 101,000 copies of Heng:garæ had sold in Japan placing the album at no. 1 on their weekly albums chart for the week of June 22 through June 28.
While taking the no. 1 spot is already impressive, Heng:garæ is actually SEVENTEEN’s third consecutive album to top the chart after You Made My Dawn and An Ode took the top spots upon their release!
This means SEVENTEEN are now the third male foreign artist in history to snag the top spot on the chart with three consecutive albums. The only other artists to do so were Simon & Garfunkel in 1971 and Bay City Rollers in 1977, which also means that SEVENTEEN are the first artists to achieve this record in almost 43 years!
SEVENTEEN are truly unstoppable! Congratulations SEVENTEEN! Now we’re off to celebrate with “Left & Right”!
