SEVENTEEN Mingyu's Parent Reveal Has Fans Wondering If He's Related To One Of His Members

SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu uploaded a video via the group’s official TikTok account and his personal Instagram account, joining a popular TikTok trend.

According to Know Your Meme, “a user shows photos of two celebrities they look like and label them their parents to the audio created by TikTik user @steeerling in July 2019 in which he says, ‘It all started when my mom met my dad and they fell in love and they had me. Hi, I’m ryan and my life is kinda crazy.’ The audio, meant to mock a cliché movie introduction has been used ever since to compare TikTok user’s appearance to that of celebrity ‘parents.'”

Mingyu shared an honest version, revealing old photos of his mother and father, followed by photos of himself throughout the years. The video went viral with 5.8M and 30.4M views on TikTok and Instagram, respectively, at the time of writing.

Netizens confessed they initially thought a fan account had shared the edit, and they were shocked to see it was coming from the official accounts.

Others couldn’t get over Mingyu’s father’s resemblance not to himself but to another SEVENTEEN member: DK! CARATs wondered if Mingyu and DK might actually be related.

Still, many CARATs agreed there’s no denying Mingyu is his parents’ child, as he resembles both his mother and father.
