The post is an advert for CASS (the Korean alcohol brand that partnered with the 2024 Paris Olympics), and the post was done because SEVENTEEN’s BSS (Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi) were picked as the summer digital campaign models.

Under the post, Seungkwan added a warning comment.

The commenters appear to link Seungkwan’s alcohol-related update to BTS Suga‘s drunk driving incident.

Netizens quickly clarified that there was no link to any incident, and the comment is often used when idols are promoting alcohol; it was even used in the recent Going SEVENTEEN video descriptions, which also had CASS as the sponsor.

After the issue gained more attention, netizens noticed that the comments under Seungkwan’s pinned post with Moonbin were flooded with toxic comments.

On August 12, netizens noticed that the pinned post of Seungkwan and Moonbin had been removed, leaving the CASS post as the first photoset seen.

Netizens shared their anger because they believed that Seungkwan removed the post so it wasn’t as easy for others to find the picture and write awful comments under the specific post.
