While there is nothing wrong with idols dating, this is not the truth of the (hilarious) situation.
The photo comes from a set posted on a Chinese social media app, with the first showing Vernon with Tobi Lou, a musican he previously worked with. The second image is the one that is circulating and is actually the OP in the photo, who approached Vernon.
I ran into Vernon in LA!I bought a concert ticket last minute and went for brunch with my friends. Then I saw someone at the door who really looked like Vernon!I worked up the courage and got his autograph.
