SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi Personally Addresses Fans’ Concerns About Impending Military Service Enlistment

He’s next in line.

As many know, all men must enlist in the military in South Korea. When they go is often decided by their age. They are able to enlist from 18 years old onwards, and are able to delay it until they turn 28 years of age. In SEVENTEEN‘s case, the oldest Korean members S.COUPS and Jeonghan should enlist in 2024. They were both born in 1995, meaning that they turn 29 in 2024, making this year the last year for their delay. S.COUPS is exempt from service due to a torn ligament injury. On the other hand, Jeonghan already made pre-emptive statements about his enlistment, much to the panic of fans.

Next in line is the Korean 96-line in the group. This consists of Hoshi, Wonwoo, and Woozi. As they turn 28 in 2024, fans were beginning to panic about their enlistment. One fan took to a video call fansign to ask Hoshi about it personally. According to them, they decided to ask him about it directly as the members have recently been talking about the military.

I’m not going this year, not this year. I’ll go next year. Next year.

— Hoshi

Fans can now rest-assured that the 96-line members won’t be going in 2024! A year should be enough for CARATs to prepare themselves mentally and emotionally for the absence of their beloved boys.
