SHINee’s Taemin Makes An Unexpected Cameo In “Pachinko”
Shawols were surprised to see that SHINee‘s Taemin made a cameo in the K-Drama Pachinko!
Apple TV‘s Pachinko is based on the 2017 book of the same name by Lee Min Jin. Pachinko‘s story begins in 1910, when Korea was occupied by Japan, focusing on the “lives of the Zainichi population, or Korean people who emigrated to Japan during the occupation.” The story follows the lives of an immigrant family across different generations, and Pachinko has been praised for telling the family’s story without muddling or convoluting the storyline.
This K-Drama stars legendary actors Youn Yuh Jung, Kim Min Ha, and Lee Min Ho, and it has been named “the finest drama of the year” by NME.
On March 24, Apple TV released the opening sequence of the K-Drama on YouTube. Thanks to this YouTube video, K-Drama fans who aren’t subscribed to Apple TV were still able to get a taste of Pachinko.
Shawols who watched the opening sequence noticed that a pair of hands that appeared for roughly half a second looked very familiar. As it turned out, those hands were Taemin’s hands!
The clip of Taemin’s hands was from the “Want” music video, but the colors were adjusted for the Pachinko opening sequence.
Shawols were surprised to see Taemin’s hands appear in the opening sequence, and many fans are curious about how footage from the “Want” music video ended up in the K-Drama’s opening.
