SHINee’s Taemin Suspected To Be Preparing To Open Clothing Business — Gains Criticism For Over-Priced Items
SHINee‘s Taemin recently made a comeback with Sexy In The Air.
Alongside the comeback, he plans to hold an exhibition in Seoul to celebrate his 10th year anniversary and the release of ETERNAL. The exhibition is titled the same name as his album, and he will also unveil his special clothing brand there.
The exhibition will sell a variety of goods including basic tees, keyrings and more.
Apart from that, fans can also access clothing products from a new brand called TAEM. The logo was created to mimic Taemin’s english name. If you make a purchase at his exhibition, you can scan a QR code on a tag, where you will gain access to the brand’s wider website. On the website, you can find tops, dresses, bottoms, even accessories from the new brand. The brand’s social media also follows only Taemin, leading many to wonder if Taemin was preparing to launch his own clothing brand.
Each shirt from the brand goes for around $126.88 USD. It looks like global shipping is also available.
If you search for 'Tee' and 'Cap' on the TAEM website, you'll find these products available for order! $126.88 for the logo tee (both overfit and cropped) and $71.78 for the cap. They offer worldwide shipping. 🌐 #TAEM #TAEM107 #TAEMIN pic.twitter.com/9tvR4DgMUh

The exorbitant prices and sudden launch of a new brand caused netizens to criticize the singer.
- No matter how good the material and quality of a tee, that price doesn’t make sense. If you know the cost price of production…
- Huh? I used to like him, and it’s not like he had a fashionable image. His clothes here are also not great.
- It doesn’t seem to be official goods.
- I didn’t think he would be the type to start a business. This is fascinating.
- It’s so expensive at ₩160,000 KRW (about $120 USD)
- This is so disappointing, hey.
- He probably already made good money, so why…
It would not be the first time that a celebrity launches a clothing brand. Previously, EXO‘s Baekhyun launched Privé by BBH, while many suspect BLACKPINK‘s Jennie to be a co-owner of the brand NIEEH.
