SHINee’s Key Explains His “Everybody”-Inspired Teletubbies Art Work
In a recent livestream, SHINee‘s Key showed off the newest art piece in his collection: a piece by Kim Se Dong, also known as SAMBYPEN.
Key explained that he commissioned the artwork based off the cover art for SHINee’s fifth EP, “Everybody.”
He sent the album photo to the artist to use as inspiration. Key said it had nothing to do with the Teletubbies, but that because SAMBYPEN often works with characters, he told him to use whatever characters he is into these days.
Because there are only four Teletubby characters, the artist chose to represent member Jonghyun as the sun. Key then said, “Actually, there are 5 main characters in Teletubbies.”
Key said he couldn’t remember what order everyone was standing in, but a fan commented to let him know the order as follows: Key, Taemin, Jonghyun, Minho, and Onew.
Fans noticed that the antennae of the Teletubbies spelled out 0525, in honor of SHINee’s debut stage date, May 25, 2008.
OMG The painting is 0525 on the teletubbies heads.
