Renowned actress Go Min Si has opened up about the strict diet that helped her shed 15kg for her role in the Netflix series The Frog.

Known for her dedication to her craft, Go revealed that she dropped to 43kg to deliver a raw, intense portrayal of The Frog character Yoo Seong Ah.

In a recent appearance on the YouTube channel 117, Go shared that her daily intake was limited to one iced latte, a sheet of seasoned seaweed, and two boiled eggs. Her extreme transformation was part of her preparation for the role, which involved physically demanding scenes that showcased her dramatically slimmed-down frame.

Go explained that the drastic weight loss was intentional, aiming to give her character a raw, vulnerable appearance in the show’s more brutal moments. Despite the minimal diet, the actress admitted that she actually felt more focused when she ate less.

I focus better when I eat less. I feel more mentally clear when I’m hungry. When I eat, I get sleepy, but when I eat less, I feel sharp and alert.

While Go’s weight fluctuated in the past — rising as high as 58kg during filming for The Witch — she’s able to adjust her weight quickly, sometimes by as much as 3kg in a single day.

Co-host Dex — who had also experienced fasting during his preparation for a motorcycle competition — asked if she noticed a difference in her performance while hungry. Go agreed, reinforcing that she feels more energized when she eats less.
